Cookie Policy
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Row Zero, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on getrowzero.org (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy. Row Zero is a warehouse-native spreadsheet; the cookies we use relate to operating the marketing site and the authenticated product experience, not to your warehouse data.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow us to recognise your device across page loads, maintain your signed-in session, store your preferences, and measure aggregate usage. We also use related browser technologies such as localStorage for banner dismissal state.
3. How We Use Cookies
| Category | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication session, CSRF token, cookie-banner dismissal state | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Interface preferences, theme | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Self-hosted or anonymised analytics to measure page visits and feature usage | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used | N/A |
4. Notice and Choice
We operate a notice-only consent model for cookies on getrowzero.org. When you first visit the site, a banner informs you that cookies are in use. Non-essential cookies such as analytics may activate immediately on page load; the banner is informational rather than a gate. You may opt out of analytics cookies at any time using the cookie banner (accessible via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer) or by configuring your browser to block or delete cookies.
5. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where applicable state law requires - including California (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code section 22575), Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon - we honour browser-transmitted opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). When your browser sends a GPC signal, we suppress analytics initialisation for that session, regardless of any prior banner dismissal. We do not sell personal information and do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party service providers operating on our behalf (for example, an analytics service we use to understand aggregate page traffic). We have written agreements with such providers that limit their use of data to providing services to us and prohibit them from using it for their own advertising or profiling purposes.
7. Managing Cookies
- Use the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer to reopen the banner and opt out of analytics at any time.
- Browser settings allow you to block, restrict, or delete cookies from specific sites or all sites. See aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or maintaining a session in Row Zero.
8. Changes and Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any such change. For questions about cookies or to exercise a rights request, contact:
